Coach Phil is a multi-sport varsity athlete who excelled in both basketball and baseball at Lake Washington High School from 2013 to 2018. His baseball career advanced with a scholarship to Columbia Basin College, where he competed from 2018 to 2020 before moving on to the prestigious West Coast League with the Cowlitz Black Bears—a program known for producing elite talent, including MLB All-Star Shane Bieber. He later graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gonzaga University with a degree in Sport Management.
Beyond his playing accomplishments, Coach Phil has built an outstanding coaching résumé. He served as a head coach for Padres Camps in 2022 and became Program Director for Skyhawks, one of the nation’s largest youth sports organizations, in 2023. That same year, he was honored as the Puget Sound Region Coach of the Year and was a national Coach of the Year nominee. From late 2023 into early 2024, he played semi-professional baseball in Western Australia while also serving as the club’s Junior Development Officer, coaching athletes ages 5–18, running holiday camps, and implementing an arm care routine across the entire organization.
Currently, Coach Phil works as a scout for Prep Baseball and has been offered the role of Assistant Scouting Director for the Greek National Team, with plans to obtain Greek citizenship to compete internationally. He is also the founder of PRoe Diamond Consulting, where he supports athletes in the U.S. and Australia through the college recruiting process. His development background is strengthened by his training at Driveline Baseball, where he trained alongside elite professionals including Shohei Ohtani, Hector Neris, and multiple Philadelphia Phillies minor leaguers.
