Four-year Division I player at Columbia University, competing at the highest academic and athletic level simultaneously
2022 Ivy League Champion who played in the Blacksburg Regional final vs. nationally ranked Virginia Tech
Passionate about mentoring young athletes on discipline, balance, and the mindset required to succeed on and off the field
Coach John is a 2023 graduate of Columbia University, where he spent four years competing as a Division I baseball player while navigating the rigorous demands of an Ivy League education. As Columbia’s center fielder, he played a key role in the Lions’ 2022 Ivy League Championship run and their advance to the Blacksburg Regional Championship Game against nationally ranked Virginia Tech. His time at Columbia also included major highlight moments, such as a series win over the University of Alabama in 2023.
Before his collegiate career, Coach John attended the Dunn School in Santa Ynez, CA. Originally a middle infielder, he transitioned to the outfield before his senior year to capitalize on his speed and athleticism—a move that paid off immediately. He batted .506 with 22 stolen bases and 43 runs scored as a senior, and .551 with 24 stolen bases as a junior, placing him among California’s statistical leaders both seasons. His athletic versatility extended beyond baseball as well; he captained the Dunn basketball team, averaging 29 points per game as a junior and earning recruitment interest at the collegiate level.
Above all, he is passionate about mentoring the next generation of athletes, saying he is excited “not just to coach, but to guide kids who have the same dreams I did not too long ago.”
