Coach Max Merlan brings elite collegiate playing experience and a championship-winning coaching pedigree to The Nest Baseball Academy. During his competitive playing career, Max was recognized by Perfect Game as a High National Follow and ranked among the Top 100 Outfielders in Southern California. His explosive, high-intent swing mechanics and documented 92 mph exit velocity translated into a standout collegiate career, culminating as a key outfielder for the University of Saint Katherine. Notably, Max also earned First Team All-Palm Springs Collegiate League honors, proving his ability to perform and dominate against top-tier pitching talent.

As a hitting specialist, Max has a proven track record of translating high-level concepts into actionable player development. Serving as an Assistant Coach at The Rock Academy, he engineered the swing mechanics and offensive approaches that led the program to a CIF Division 5 II-A Championship. Coach Max specializes in optimizing mechanical efficiency, maximizing bat speed, and building a fearless, aggressive approach in the batter's box. He masterfully bridges elite data-driven performance with a highly encouraging coaching style to successfully elevate hitters of all ages and skill levels.
